The Raychem IR-550/ED-7 from TE provides a convenient portable electric infrared heating tool and controller. This system gives fast, reliable installations of SolderSleeve devices, MiniSeal devices, SolderTacts contacts, and TE heat-shrinkable products.
The foot-pedal-operated, benchtop tool allows both manual and automatic control of the heating tool. In the manual mode, the operator uses the foot pedal to start and stop the heating sequence. In the automatic mode, the power and duration of heating—including varying levels and times in the sequence— allow consistent and precise application of heat. The controller can store up to 20 sequences in memory.
